Inclusion & Belonging
Creating a Workplace Where Everyone Thrives

Diversity is a fact, it's the rich tapestry of backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives present in any group. But inclusion is a choice. It's the daily practice of ensuring every single person feels seen, heard, and valued for who they are. Belonging is the result: that deep, human feeling of being safe and accepted, which allows people to bring their full selves to their work.

At uniquely human, we guide organisations on a journey beyond compliance to connection. We provide a safe, supportive space to have courageous conversations and build the practical skills needed to create a truly inclusive culture where your diversity can become your greatest strength.

Foundations of Belonging
Our Role in an Inclusive Culture

This essential workshop is designed for all employees and serves as the perfect starting point for your organisation's inclusion journey. It creates a shared language and understanding, moving the conversation from a place of fear or uncertainty to one of shared responsibility and empowerment.

Topics

We'll create clarity around the fundamentals: What are Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, and how do they connect? We'll have a non-judgmental exploration of unconscious bias, looking at how our brains work and the impact of our mental shortcuts. Finally, we'll focus on the power of micro-behaviours, both the hurtful and the healing, to shape our daily interactions.

Learning Outcomes

  • Clearly define Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) and articulate their importance.
  • Recognise unconscious bias in oneself and identify simple strategies to mitigate its impact.
  • Understand the difference between micro-aggressions and micro-affirmations and their effect on belonging.

Active Allyship
From Intention to Impact

This workshop is for everyone who wants to move beyond passive support to become an active agent for positive change. It answers the critical question: "I want to be an ally, but what do I do?" This session is all about building the confidence and skills to act.

Topics

We define true allyship as a verb, a practice of consistent action, not just a label. We explore the ally's journey of listening, learning, and leveraging one's own position to advocate for others. Most importantly, we provide practical frameworks for speaking up and supporting colleagues in moments of exclusion.

Learning Outcomes

  • Differentiate between performative and authentic allyship.
  • Identify opportunities in their daily work to practice active allyship.
  • Gain confidence in using simple techniques to intervene or support a colleague in a difficult situation.

Introduction to Anti-Racism
A Journey of Learning & Action

This is a deep and courageous dive for organisations ready to move beyond diversity statements and engage in the meaningful work of racial equity. This workshop provides a structured, supportive environment for the foundational learning required to build a truly anti-racist culture.

Topics

This journey begins with education. We facilitate a clear understanding of systemic racism and how it differs from individual prejudice. We explore the crucial shift from being passively "non-racist" to being actively anti-racist. Finally, we guide your teams in beginning to examine your own organisation's policies, practices, and norms through an anti-racism lens.

Learning Outcomes

  • Articulate the difference between individual prejudice and systemic racism.
  • Understand the concept of anti-racism as a practice of active, ongoing change.
  • Begin to identify organisational systems and processes that can be examined for greater equity.
  • Understanding that racism is pervasive and the tools and practices of implementing anti-racist practice is ongoing work.

The Inclusive Leader
Unlocking the Potential of Every Person

Designed for people managers at all levels, this program provides the essential toolkit for leading diverse teams. It positions inclusive leadership not as an extra task, but as the core of what it means to be an effective leader today.

Topics

The journey starts with leader self-awareness and practical tools for interrupting personal bias in key moments like hiring and giving feedback. We provide a guide to creating psychological safety for all, with a specific focus on marginalised groups. Finally, we translate theory into practice, covering how to run inclusive meetings, deliver equitable feedback, and fairly distribute opportunities.

Learning Outcomes

  • Identify and mitigate personal bias in key leadership responsibilities.
  • Apply specific behaviours to foster a climate of high psychological safety on their team.
  • Implement at least three practical changes to their daily leadership routines to ensure greater equity and inclusion.
